Open a session
How to start a secure session inside a workspace.
Open your workspace, start a session, pick resources if prompted, and it launches in your browser - ready to run tools on your data.
Before you start
Sessions run inside a workspace, so open the workspace you want to work in first. If you do not have one yet, see Create a workspace.
Open a session
Open your workspace
From Workspaces, select the one holding the project you are working on.
Start a new session
Select Start a new session.
Wait for it to come up
The platform builds your environment and connects your browser to it. This takes a moment the first time.
Launch what you need
The session opens empty. Add your tools from the App Store - see Launch an app.
While it runs
Your tools appear as windows in the browser. Move between them, work on the workspace's data, and save your results into the workspace as you go.
A session keeps running if you close the browser tab. That is deliberate - a long analysis carries on without you sitting there - but it also means the session is still holding resources. Come back to it from the dashboard, or stop it when you are done.
Work saved into the workspace persists and is there next time. Anything left only in the session's own temporary space may not survive it stopping.
What's next
